MAKILALA, North Cotabato — Governor Emmanuel Piñol blamed the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) for Tuesday night’s bombing that killed six people — not 12 as government officials had reported. Piñol said the bomb used in the attack bore signs that the explosive was the handiwork of the MILF.
The military said the bomb was fashioned out of a mortar shell and was remotely detonated. The MILF denied it had a hand in the bombing, the second to hit central Mindanao in less than 12 hours.
A bomb exploded in Tacurong City past noon Tuesday, wounding at least four people.
